Well I finally opened the rotten thing up and guess what!!! The thing was rotten! Looked fine on the outside but nasty on the inside. So there is no fear of this beast turning into a feral poisonous zucchini and cross pollinating with all and sundry, Purplepear. The chooks enjoyed emptying the shell.

Might stick with the tried and true regular zukes from now on.
