Getting The Word Out There

As the bearded wonder has started a new mobile picture framing business, it is important that we get out into the community and get the word out. He thought that by having a presence at the local market, he could show off his wares and talk to people about what he is all about and how his business works. We applied to the Southern Beaches market for a spot and they were kind enough to give us an opportunity.
The day arrived and we set up our gazebo and tables and stock. The bearded wonder had lots of his corner samples on display as well as mat boards, framed mirrors, photographs and ready made frames.

Well all started off well, I sold all 5 dozen of my eggs within the first 5 mins of arrival, before we had set anything up. Then just when we were feeling pretty chuffed with out set up, down came the rain and wind. The crowd was reduced to no more than about 20 hearty souls for several hours. Then the sun came out and the crowd doubled for 30 mins until the next scud came through. Despite the awful conditions, we had lots of interests from fellow stall holders who were artists, so it will be interesting to see what comes of this. I sold some of my photography and a few bunches of garlic, which I took from my person planting stock. I still have loads left to plant. Plus we made some new friends. Will we be there again at  the March? Most probably, unless Roger is recovering from open heart surgery which he is due to have soon to replace heart valves.
