Become a Control Freak

Are you disciplined? Do you have what it takes to control your spending?
Have you ever been sucked into buying from the many ads that you see and hear on a daily basis, thrust at us, from every media.  Where ever you go, you are being brainwashed. That is the job of the ad men (and women), to irritate, enlighten, inform, entertain but uppermost to seep into your brain. Unless you live under a rock it’s hard to get away from.  You only have to watch the Gruen Transfer to understand the psychology of advertising. Their sole aim is to get your money from your clutches.  The money you have worked so hard for and saved so hard to keep. Are you going to allow them to become more successful on money that you sweated over?
What hits you in the face when you go shopping? Big displays of stuff, all with your name on it, “Buy me!” it calls. Don’t be sucked in, do what you went there to do and don’t be way laid by all this stuff.  After all, it’s only stuff. How much stuff do you need? Try to avoid the shops, if possible, don’t make a habit of going shopping as a pleasure activity.

Can you say NO to sales people who are trying to get you to commit?  If you can’t, you need to learn to walk away and leave the shop before they win.
LESSON 5:  Don’t be influenced by advertising, have a NO JUNK MAIL sign on your mail box. Be strong and single minded and you will not fall for all the propaganda.
